From Start to Finish

Artist Statement:

I am a lifelong artist who has always loved drawing horses. I have been a Gallopalooza artist in the past, in 2015, painting “Happy Birthday, Belle”, “Thunder Over Louisville”, and a tribute to “American Pharoah”. In 2022 I painted the Old Forester bottles for the Gallopalooza Spirited Series.

My design for the horse this year includes an old-fashioned painting of a mare and foal, with horses in the background of a Kentucky scene. The tail will be dated 1874. On the other side of the horse will be a portrait close-up painting of a reaching thoroughbred and a full shot of a jockey and horse. Again, the colors will be old-fashioned … creams, browns, and black. On the legs will be bright red roses to signify the foal to adulthood racing thoroughbred winner.
