Artist Statement:

My name is Darryl Tucker, owner of Artuckstic Creations in Louisville, Kentucky. I have created various forms of art but in recent years I have developed a strong passion for finger painting. I have found satisfaction in the physical touch with an object when finger painting. I feel like the painting and I are on one accord using this method. The opportunity to finger paint a Gallopalooza Horse with the first Kentucky Derby Winner Oliver Lewis, who was also the first Black Jockey to win the Kentucky Derby was an honor. I’ve finger-painted canvases, walls, and barrels but never a horse statue. This was a memorable experience and I feel Blessed for the opportunity to show my work.
